When the World is Spiraling, Keep Your Own Vibes High

When I look at the headlines, I’m in disbelief as many of you probably are. I don’t see news of positivity, excitement or joy. I see news of violence, injustice, and pain. I acknowledge that what is being reported is occurring and do what I can from where I am.

With the understanding that every human is connected to every other human and with the awareness that I am in charge of the energy that I emit into the world, I do what I know how to do. I know how to send love energy to those in need and I know how to keep my own vibes high. If everyone knew this, what would be possible in our world? If everyone knew the power of Love, how could the world change in a holy instant?

If you are keeping your own vibes high, you are joyful and positive. If you are not keeping your own vibes high, you are miserable, complaining, criticizing, or judging – perpetuating hate.

How can you let what is happening in the world occur while at the same time be happy? Your miserableness will do absolutely nothing to change what is occurring, so why be miserable? In fact, your miserableness will make it worse. The truth is, right now, if you are reading this, chances are you have a comfortable home, people in your life who love you, and interesting things to do in your own life. That’s a gift. With appreciation for the gift of your life, choose joy.

How to keep your vibes high:

  • Any kind of movement: dance, yoga, sports, or other movement practices.
  • Time in nature: walk in the woods, plant a flower, sit in the grass.
  • Acknowledge fear and talk to it. Say: I see you fear and I release you. I choose love.
  • Bodywork / Energy work: massage, acupuncture, rolfing, reiki, jin shin jyutsu.
  • Listen to your own thoughts and feelings. Choose thoughts that bring peace. Release thoughts that do not.
  • Based on inspired thoughts and deep feelings, follow your own impulses. Learn this.
  • Do not ever complain, judge, or criticize anyone or anything. Instead, notice.
  • Be with people who uplift you. If you don’t have them, find them.
  • Meditation, prayer, or self-reflection. everyday. Multiple times a day.

In closing, if we want to see the change, we have to be the change. Everything you think, say, and do affects everyone else. You have the power to move mountains. Claim it!
